Círculos de sanación para las víctimas de abuso sexual clerical: la experiencia de Voice of the Faithful

La Iglesia católica comenzó a vivir una de las mayores crisis institucionales después de 2002, cuando The Boston Globe reveló un reporte de más de 600 casos de abuso sexual clerical (Barrionuevo, 2021; The Boston Globe, 2016). A partir de esta conmoción, surgió el movimiento laico Voice of the Faithful (VOTF) con el propósito de apoyar a las víctimas de abuso sexual clerical (ASC) y promover cambios estructurales en la Iglesia católica (VOTF., s.fa)[1]. VOTF encontró que, con los círculos de sanación basados en principios de justicia restaurativa, podía dar un apoyo tangible a las víctimas de ASC y transformar la Iglesia desde adentro [2]. En ese sentido, este escrito busca describir la experiencia de los círculos de sanación desde una perspectiva de los movimientos sociales al implementar una vía de activismo del siglo XXI, antes que cuestionar o defender su labor.
